From the A3 take the A4 at the motorway crossing Köln-Ost in the direction of Aachen/Deutz, Leave the A4 at Deutz and take the direction Köln-Zentrum. Cross the bridge Deutzerbrücke, keep going straight, pass the Neumarkt and stay on the left lane.
On the left hand side you will see the BARCELÓ COLOGNE CITY CENTER.
OR From the A1,
Drive until Kreuz Köln-Nord, take the A57 in the direction of Köln-Zentrum. Stay on this motorway until its end, take a right turn into the Innere Kanalstraße.
Follow the signs "Zentrum“. Stay on the Aachener Straße (left turns are not possible) and make a U-turn after a 100m, at the next traffic light. Turn right into the Aachener Straße, go through a tunnel and after 500m you will see the BARCELÓ COLOGNE CITY CENTER on your left hand side.
Using public transport:
Take the Tram Lines 1 or 7 to Rudolfplatz Sation. Continue in the same direction, cross the street and you reach the BARCELÓ COLOGNE CITY CENTER.
OR Take Metro Lines 6 or 15 until Rudolfplatz Station. Leave the Station following the signs "Habsburgerring / Aachener Str.“ The Hotel is on your right hand side.

Have just
come back from Cologne, excellent Hotel, right on the doorstep of 2
Christmas Markets and across the road from tram and bus stops. Breakfast
buffet excellent with huge choice. Room excellent, clean and well appointed
(ours had view of Dom). Dont ask reception for Taxi, they use Private Hire
which costs almost double.
2007
My husband, myself and two children have just
returned from a two night mini break to Cologne and were quite impresed with
this hotel. The staff were very pleasant and our room, which was on the 7th
floor, was quite large and had a fab view of the Dom and the city. The hotel
is very near to the tram stops but is a nice walk to the Cathedral. We only
ate breakfast in the hotel this was help yourself buffet style and was
excellant with a wide choice of hot and cold food. There are many nice
restaurants and diners near the hotel.
The pool is quite small but was empty when we went in so was ok. Our only
complaint was that the duvets were too small for the beds but when asked for
larger ones they were changed straight away. If we return for the Christmas
Markets we will definately stay at this hotel.

Just on the edge of the Old City near and old
city gate. Beautiful hotel with an awesome staff. Courteous and helpful.

stayed here for 3 nights in 2004. Terrific hotel - very high standard, nice
big rooms with all the usual facilities you would expect of a hotel at this
level. You can often get quite competitive rates.
I have to disagree with the review that suggests the hotel is not a long way
from the centre as it is at least a 15/20 minute walk to the Dom and Railway
station.
However that said this is **NOT** an issue as there is public transport on
the doorstep that can get you anywhere in no time - Huemarkt is just one
stop away and this stop is literally the centre of the public transport
network.
