Barceló Jandia Mar Location Located
overlooking the Jandía beach
In the heart of the second largest golf course on the
Island of Fuerteventura
In the heart of the second Golf Course in the island.
Next to a residential area with luxury villas,
just 2 kilometres to Morro Jable.
Pros:-
Very generous all inclusive, drinks not watered down and plentiful.
Cocktails, hot lamumbas etc available too. Beer, red white and rose wine,
sangria, water and soft drinks all on tap to help yourself. Cava also
plentiful on the all inc, from early evening bottles were available in the
foyer to just help yourself (with fresh orange for bucks fizz if required).
Food was varied and tasty, though only warm not hot. However, there was a
microwave that you could use so not a problem. Indoor pool, gym and sauna
available free. Massage extra cost. Hotel staff were lovely, polite and
friendly, even when verbally abused by some clients (not English might I
add). The sunbeds were always available as the rule of not reserving beds is
adhered to and works well. The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms, toilets and
public areas too.
Cons:- Only one barman serving at every bar but having said that the queues
went down pretty fast. The hotel is a little spread out and if youre in a
block far away it can be a bind if you forget something and have to trail
back. As the weather was very bad while we were there this was a bit
frustrating! Hotel is quite a walk from the centre of Jandia but wouldnt
have been a problem if the sun had shined! Jandia as a resort is a little
isolated unless you have a car, it takes a while to get anywhere on the bus
2008
The last
week in January was not good weather wise for our stay in Jandia, two days
of torrential rain and high winds.
Thankfully the Jandia Mar was better than the weather.
We were in the Main Hotel, ( there are nine other accommodation blocks )The
bedrooms are large and spacious, as are the bathrooms, towels changed daily
and the toiletries were also replaced every day, Bedding and pillows changed
twice during the week.
All inclusive includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks throughout the
day, unlimited drinks between 10am and 11pm the wine and beer all on tap,
whilst not being the best they were all very drinkable.
Yes disposable cartons are used for drinks outside ,which to me makes sense,
as there are two large swimming pools and you dont want broken glass ,also
the downstairs bar use disposables but again it is next to the hotel theatre
and it makes sense to have these when going in and out of the shows when its
dark.
There is plenty to do, there is an entertainment team who encourage you to
join in the facilities, without pestering you ! if you want to do your own
thing

2006
Just
returned this morning, December 10th 2006.
May I just say, I too nearly cancelled due some the frightening, reports on
this site, my husband, brother, sister-in-law and myself all in our fifties
had a very enjoyable time. When we arrived at to hotel, we were all slightly
unnerved...BUT, we were greeted by very friendly staff on reception, and far
as we were concerned it all looked very clean and inviting to us. Out
luggage was delivered to our rooms, very quickly, the rooms were LOVELY and
clean, and it suited our needs. we went down for our dinner on the first
evening, wondering what food was waiting for us. No need to have been
worried it was ALL good, plenty of choice. As people should remember it is
not just a "Brit" hotel it is for all nationalies, so they catered for
everyone, and my family and I think they did very well. Someone mentioned
plastic glasses, well, this was only found near the swimming pool
area, sensible as far as we were concerned, broken glass could of been a
hazard, to anyone with no shoes on, and there were plenty of people walking
around like that with the beautiful weather. On the whole the staff and
hotel were very good, and could not fault anything. Yes, there was a very
steep hill outside the hotel, BUT, there was ways around it, the hotel laid
on a bus service, and as has been said in other reviews was very good,
failing that there are always the taxi's. There are always people quick to
criticise......We all have a very enjoyable time, even if the local wine was
on tap in the restaurant...But hey so what.....A holiday is what you make
it.........We will go back.............
