We had a lovely week at this hotel 7th july - 14th July the weather was very
hot, so we had to seek shade in the bar between 12.00 and 4pm (no problem on
all inclusive). the food was lovely and the house wine managed a whole
bottle each lunchtime and evening, we had to change rooms because our first
was over the bar, and although all inclusive finished at 11.30 pm the bar
was open until 2.00 am very noisy, we moved to room 121 over the other side
lovely and quite. the safe was very big, E3.00 a day and worth it, bathroom
lovely, very clean beds hard, how i like them, the beach was all sand and the
water very warm for the atlantic we were surprised,
now for the down side, all the evening entertainment was in side a shame on
a lovely summer night, and there was not much to do if you went out, a few
trips to go on, but we did not arrive until midnight and so slept through
the reps meeting never mind, a very enjoyable break but maybe it was a bit
quite for us

names all belonging to the Barceló chain of hotels beware witch one you go
to as it might be a bit confusing what can i say this hotel is about a year
old not to far from some shops plus a cinema complex this is a lovely hotel
the slight down side it really only caters for the spanish as there families
go on holiday may be some french and german the rooms are excellent very
clean food could be better but there is good choice to chose from there is a
beach just across the road and a trip to the port by taxi five euro's a bus

Working in Huelva, needed an overnight stay, unable to park anywhere near
the NH in Huelva, so followed the signs to Punta Umbria, only about 10
minutes on good roads.
Turned up at Barcelo without booking, but got in and happy as knackered..bit
of a whiff on entering the room, but realised something amiss when returned
from (excellent) buffet dinner (16 Euros..think booze was extra). Noted
wi-fi was available with a card from reception.
Very bad smell in the room, which I traced to somewhere in the bathroom,
well I was too tired to change rooms...mentioned on checkout and they said
they'd deal with it.
Fabulous breakfast and early so only a couple of oldie couples, so much
choice I just loaded up for the day..probably the best breakfast I've seen
for a while, and included in the room price (97 Euros).
Very impressed overall, the place seems to have been based on Andalucian
arches, cool corridors with fountains..I will definitely return, but next
time I'll change rooms if they smell!
Spanish people mainly (which was good) and a few Brit oldie couples (good)
in the restaurant, plus the usual bunch of obnoxious early teens..probably
Brits..anyway , not really a nuisance, ubiquitous these days.
